Since I travel the world, I’ve found that having insurance while traveling allows me to rest easy. Not all of the places that I’ve traveled to I had insurance and now, as I get older, my gears are turning and I realize the benefits of having it. There are several reasons why getting it will help you out. Many obstacles happen in life, medical, accidents, or flight issues. Travel insurance can help with all of that. Some countries actually say that it’s mandatory to get it if you plan on traveling to their country.

Insurance While Traveling is Needed in Sweden

Travel insurance is something that’s required to get in Sweden as a visa applicant that will cover emergency medical with a minimum of 30,000 Euros ($33,510). This will help you with the emergency medical expenses and there’s add on options if you want more coverage. Once you get your Schengen visa, it covers you for 26 countries. Make sure that your insurance also covers you in those countries, especially if you plan on visiting them.

With hiking in mind or being outdoors, Sweden is the place to go! If you plan on learning more about hiking in Sweden, check this out.

WorldNomads Insurance While Traveling

Since I enjoy traveling to the outdoors and hiking, I have used World Nomads’ insurance a few times. It helps me feel more free when I travel to countries that don’t have as many medical facilities, or are known for dangerous animals. World Nomads doesn’t feel like your average Insurance company. They actually help you with the content that they share about traveling safely, ethically, and responsibly.

Prepare for the Unknown

Time and time again, I’ve ran into people while traveling and learn of their horror stories and how many of them wished they had travel insurance. One had his backpack stolen off his own back! Another, ended up in the hospital for days and now owes much more that it should have been. I could go on and on, but it’s becoming more obvious that buying travel insurance is the way to go since it helps you with the unknown future. Especially if you’re a person that’s a daredevil or plan on taking some exhilarating hikes, insurance while traveling is the way to go!

For me, it’s even more important than it was before since we travel with our 2 year old. Having a travel insurance as a safety blanket is especially important for families!

About Me

Misfit Wanders

Misfit Wanders

I´m a kooky girl that likes to travel. I grew up in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, USA. Then moved to Northern California for about 5 years. But now, it's going on 5 years living in Sweden with my hubby and our furbabies, plus our little boy and my mom has joined our crew! Over the pandemic time, it has been hard to travel. Thus, my travel blog had been at a stand still. I started going to a University and I had a baby. Now I'm on a different kind of adventure. But my family and I plan on traveling when we can still. Traveling is something I cherish. New adventures is what keeps me moving, that and a stubbornness. I have a weird sense of humor if you haven´t figured that out from my posts. My writing can be perplexing, but I like to tell stories, and the best way is from my own experiences. So sit back and relax, as you take a spin through my hikes or enjoy following my footsteps as I wander in different countries! Most of my writings will be focused on hikes and the outdoors in Sweden.
