I just thought of all the fun things I could do in Phnom Penh because the houses are so clean and gold. Inside, there are lots of Buddhist images that people can pray to. Two snakes with eight heads showed the way to a lot of different types of royal house buildings. I couldn’t believe it.
Phnom Penh is a lively city with lots of history, culture, and delicious food. Are you planning a trip to this place and want to find fun things to do? You’re in luck! There are lots of things to do to keep you busy and happy.
There is still some beauty in Phnom Penh, even though it is a very busy city. We went to a temple, the royal house, and a night market in our first day and a half in Cambodia. You can have fun in Phnom Penh by doing these things.
Visit the Royal Palace
When you go to Phnom Penh, you have to see the Royal Palace. The Silver Pagoda is one of the many beautiful churches that are inside this impressive building, which stands for Cambodia’s rich history and culture. Also, you’ll get to see the Throne Hall, which is still used for ceremonies by the sitting king. There are lots of fun things to do in Phnom Penh, like this.
Explore the Central Market
The Central Market is one of the best places to shop for clothes, gifts, and handmade goods from Cambodia. It is also one of the most fun things to do in Phnom Penh. Being in this busy market is a great way to learn about Cambodian culture and get the best deals from the sellers.
Take a Tour of the Killing Fields
Going to the Killing Fields is an important part of Cambodia’s past, but it might not be the most fun thing on this list. This sad event will teach you about the cruel Khmer Rouge government and how it affected the people of Cambodia.

The National Museum of Cambodia has a large collection of Khmer art, such as paintings, sculptures, and pottery. There is a lot to learn about Cambodia’s past and culture at this museum.
Walk By the Riverside
It’s fun to take a slow walk along the Riverside and enjoy the sights and sounds of Phnom Penh. You’ll see a lot of restaurants and bars along the way. Stop at one to eat or drink something cool while taking in the view of the Tonle Sap River.
Learn to Cook Cambodian Food
What better way to enjoy the unique and tasty food of Cambodia than to learn how to make it yourself? This is a fun thing to do in Phnom Penh. For example, you could take a food class and learn how to make amok, lok lak, and num banh chok.
Visit Wat Phnom
A temple called Wat Phnom is set on a hill in the middle of Phnom Penh. There is peace and quiet here in the middle of the busy city, and it’s a great spot to enjoy the beautiful views of the city. You will also see the figure of Lady Penh. It is said that she found the hill where the temple now stands.
As soon as the sun went down, the party started. I was getting better at negotiating prices. A tuktuk is the most popular way to get around. They had to bargain over the price in order to get a ride.
There is a river next to the night market. A lot of people were in the area, and shops were stacked on top of each other, making it hard to get through. It felt like I was a cow in a group. With so many people around, it was hard to stop and look at things.
There was music playing, and someone on a big stage started to sing. In the middle of the cooking area, rugs were on the ground. Some people were sitting on the couches in small groups and enjoying the food from the area.
Phnom Penh, a City of Culture
Phnom Penh is a city full of history and culture, so there are lots of fun things to do there. But I could still feel something creepy from the town. It was a bad feeling that wouldn’t go away. I was ready to go.Because we had been to so many places in Cambodia, we knew that Phnom Penh was the most dangerous. People who steal, take people’s bags, and buy people.
