If you’re going to be heading off on a travel adventure, then you need to make sure that you have a suitcase packing checklist. We understand that this can be stressful for people to sort out, which is why I’ve written this article for you. In this article you’ll have some of our best tips to ensure that you have got everything that you need in your suitcase. Keep reading if you’re interested in finding out more about this.
Make a Suitcase Packing Checklist
First up, we’re going to recommend that you make a suitcase packing checklist. This will be for all of the things that are essential for your trip. Ensure that it includes all of the clothing items that you’re going to need such as underwear, pants, sweaters, swimwear or whatever else. Also, try to include things that you’re going to need to buy. You can mark them in a different color to help you remember that you don’t have them yet. For example, you might need something like womens thermal gloves from HeatHolders if you’re going to be going somewhere particularly cold. Or, if you’re going somewhere hot, don’t forget sunscreen!
Once you have gotten everything, and written it all down, you can start packing and checking things off. I recommend that you don’t do this until you have all of your items ready to pack to avoid any kind of confusion.
I make a suitcase packing checklist every time I go on a trip now. It’s mostly due to traveling with my son. But it comes in handy when I travel solo as well! Sometimes I wait until the last minute to pack, which ends up feeling rushed and I forget things. So, when I have my list, forgetting something is less likely to happen. Plus, making a list has reminded me issues you ran into from other places that we’ve traveled to. So, I’ve learned from that and now added fever medicine to our packing list.
Check It All Twice
It’s a good idea to double check everything on your suitcase packing checklist before you pack it all. So, by the time that you’re done, you have been through it all three times to ensure that you haven’t forgotten anything. The first step is to have everything ready to pack. Then look it over once more and check your list. Now, it’s finally time to be serious and start packing your suitcase. Or if you’re like me, your backpack.
I know that this can be quite time consuming. But it’s the best chance that you’ve got at ensuring you’re not missing one of your items. It’s better to take the time and be prepared, than to get to your destination only to find that you didn’t check over your things enough.
Fold It So It’s All Visible
When the time comes to pack your suitcase, it’s highly recommended to look up different ways of folding online. Find the one that works best for you, but it’s also strongly encouraged for you to look at the options that allow all of your items to be visible. This way you can have another quick scan of the contents of your case if needed. It also makes it easier to get something out if you need to do this for whatever reason.
Some people will say that this is pointless, but it really makes this easier for you to manage and gives you the peace of mind that you need if you want to quickly scan everything in the case. It’s not pointless if it helps you relax and take some of the stress out of the preparation for the trip. So, this is a great thing to have on your suitcase packing checklist.
Or Roll it!
But personally, I tend to roll my clothes since this helps lessen the wrinkles and it’s a great way to use all the space to its fullest in your bag or suitcase. Now, don’t forget to have an itinerary in your suitcase packing checklist! This makes any kind of trip filled with less stress and worry!
Compartment For Documents
The final thing that I’m going to talk about is having a compartment for your documentation. In this compartment, you should have a folder containing everything that you need to travel. Or this could be one of those sleek body form bags. Your passport should be in there, any visas that you know you need. Plus, any other documentation that you think you might need to enter another country. I advise you to look this up prior to your trip so that you can submit all of the necessary applications within plenty of time. Then you’ll have a chance to get them organized so they are ready to go.
If you have them in a separate compartment, they will be easily accessible when you need to present them to the border officials. It’s just another way of taking some of the stress out of your travels and making everything as simple as it can possibly be. When I travel, I always use a money belt to hold my documents and money. However, I have some of my money spread throughout my belongings for just in case!

Stressing about things like this when you just want to have a good time on your travels is a massive no. So, you have to take the time to get yourself sorted to avoid this. Always Travel with Insurance!
Now, anything can happen when you’re traveling. So, it’s best to have travel insurance, especially if you’re an outdoorsy active person. The company that I go with is Safety Wing and the reason is that one adult plan covers up to two kids 10 years old and younger. Since I’m a mom of a almost three year old, this is perfect!
