Our tour guide took us to an open field at Värmland Moose Park in Sweden. Once we made it, there were moose antlers of all sizes in front of us. This was the start of our adventure to learn more about moose and get closer to them. However, you can’t forget that moose in the wild are very different from what you see here.

In this park, they try to make the moose feel as free as possible by giving them hundreds of acres to wander on. With that being said, you can feed, pet, and look into a moose’s eyes, which isn’t something you can do in the wild. You’ll never forget this tour because of how close you can be to them! Depending on the season when you visit, there are different ways to see the moose.

Moose Antlers at Värmland Moose Park

Tour

When it’s time for your tour, you’ll quickly learn from your moose expert tour guide about moose and the environment. First off, He’ll start off talking about moose horns and how they fall off on their own. While he talks about this, you get to see antlers of all sizes on the ground. After the tour, it’s time to pose witht he antlers like a moose for some great pictures.

Throughout our tour It became hard to keep up with all the interesting things our tour guide was saying since it was a lot of information.

Our group follows the friendly tour guide to the spot where we meet the moose. When we went there, we only let people see the female moose. There was still a lot of fun to be had, though. We were told by our tour guide that he thinks the women moose are the real kings because they look for food and protect the kids. As the moose came over from the other side of the fence to join us, my eyes started to sparkle. It was really exciting! We were given food and were allowed to touch and feed the moose while our guide talked more about wild animals and how dangerous it is to act like this around them in the wild.

Most of the time, the tours are in English, but sometimes they’re in Swedish too. So, the people in the tour groups play a role at which language the tour is given in.

There’s a lot to enjoy about this trip!

Moose

Our tour guide told us that moose are great swimmers. This shocked me because they look huge and the kind of animal that would be good at swimming to me. With that, we learned that they can dive 6 meters (6.6 yards) down and hold their breath for a minute! What?!

In addtion to their great swimming skills, they love swimming. If you want to learn more about Moose, then Värmland Moose Park in Sweden is the place to visit. While we walked to the moose, our tour guide was happily answering our questions. I’ve been to this beautiful park three times now with my family. The first time, we saw a baby moose that was only two weeks old. It was so cute!

Now, remember that moose are wild animals and that you NEED to be careful when you try to touch them. So, please be kind to these lovely animals.

Cost and the Schedule

Due to the different seasons, the program is cut down. During the winter months, there isn’t much in the park, and you’ll only be able to see half of it. During fall, it’s mating season. So you’ll see a female moose with two males next to her. Besides that, this time of year the males are known to be a little more hostile. But you should be okay as long as you treat them nicely and that there’s a female moose in their cage.

With that being said, the Swedish Värmland Moose Park is open all year! So, you can see the forest kings and queens even in the winter!

The park is only open on Wednesdays and Sundays in the fall. No matter how many people are there, each walk can last up to an hour. But every month their plans are different. To book a time to see moose, go to their website. Plus, you’ll get to see the schedul better on their website
