What Kind of Gear is Needed?

However, you shouldn’t be concerned since if you have the appropriate equipment and give it a shot, you will feel better and more confident whether you are skating on natural ice or at an ice skating rink in Stockholm. It is necessary to have ice skates in order to skate. Either you can purchase them or you can rent some of them. Additionally, you have the option of wearing knee pads, elbow pads, and a helmet. These, however, are more appropriate if you intend to participate in a sport that is more strenuous on the ice. Because you are going to be outside in the cold for a considerable amount of time, you should make sure that you are wearing gloves, a warm hat, and warm clothing when you go outside. Kungsträdgården Ice Rink
You and your family can begin ice skating in Stockholm at this most popular and attractive ice rink, which dates back to 1962. Come to the center of the city and enjoy the melody of the music as you begin your skating experience. At this location, if you do not have the necessary equipment with you, you can rent skates along with a helmet (children are required to wear a helmet). It is important to keep in mind that sticks are not permitted on the ice. It is possible to skate on this ice rink from November to March. Adults can rent gear for an hour for 70 kronor, which is equivalent to $6.70, while children under the age of 19 can borrow gear for 30 kronor, which is equivalent to $2.90. Hellasgården Ice Rink
Twenty minutes from Sodermalm is this beautiful frozen lake. A pleasant breeze comes up and makes the mood even more relaxing. While you ice skate with family or friends, you can enjoy nature. If you’re a real Swede, you can jump into the hole in the ice that was made just for that. After that, you can quickly get to the sauna. This is the best because it helps your whole body rest after working out. It’s also good for your health to do this.
You have to book your stuff online if you need to rent it. You can see the prices and pictures of some of the gear on their website. Visit Hellasgården’s website to find out more about the fun day you can have there. The weather has been colder than usual, so the natural ice may not be safe to skate on right now. Look at the website to make sure it’s okay to ice skate at this great spot before you go. After an exciting time on the ice, you can walk over to the nearby café and warm up with a cup of hot tea.

Vasaparken Ice Rink
This is the best ice rink for you if the weather is bad. There is an artificial ice rink in Stockholm that is open every day during the winter. It was built to handle all kinds of weather. There is a job that has to be done three times a day because the ice rink is fighting the weather. So, the ice rink is closed every day from 6:30 am to 8:00 am, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, and from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Östermalms IP Ice Rink
This is a huge ice rink in Stockholm. You can go on a track to skate long distances (400 meters/437 yards) or skate on the big rink with family or friends and enjoy scraping your blades against each other. At some times, you can also play games with sticks on the ice. There is a place to rent gear here, and there is even a skating aid for little kids who are just starting to learn. You can grill up some tasty food during the week and on the weekends from 11 am to 2 pm. Don’t forget to bring a snack! Lake Runn Skating
Every ice skater would love to go to Lake Runn. But it does more than just ice skating. It also does long-distance skates with longer blades. More than 80 islands are there for you to have a fika (coffee or lunch break). There is 62.5 km (39 miles) of open ice. Lake Runn links Osjon to both Falun and Borlange. The High Coast
Nyänget: When you go to Fjalludden, the sauna lets out steam. It’s a great place to take a break from the natural ice skating track that’s 3 km (2 miles) long. The track is in Ornskoldsvik, which is in the middle of Nyanget and Fjalludden. You should come see this amazing place that both locals and tourists love. Värmland
Glafsfjorden, Arvika: As you skate wild on Lake Glafsfjorden, let the wind blow through your hair. It’s called “wild skating” because there are no lines set up for it. Another interesting fact is that the river Byalven connects this lake to Lake Vanern, which is Sweden’s biggest lake. Come enjoy this famous natural spot with the people who live there. Västerås: Check out the town of Vasterås and have fun ice skating on the lake Malaren at Bjornon. There is a well-known waffle shop right next to Aktivt Uteliv in Bjornogården. You can rent skates here and even start taking lessons to learn how to ice skate better. Sörmland
Gnesta: Silence fills the lakes until the sun comes up and the ice skaters come out. A lot of people like to ice skate on this natural path near Gnesta. It lies between Visnaren and Sillen lakes. The well-kept path goes between the two lakes and is 39 km (24 miles) long. Join the people who live in this beautiful area and forget about your problems while you skate.
