The name Alma Löv comes from a mamma of 6 that was born as Alma Elvira Andrina Grönros. She had lived in Åland. In 1998 Marc and Karin Broos created the first art project called Alma the girl and began this place.
As a contemporary art museum, it has a variety of creative places for art. It has about ten pavilions scattered in nature and inside the red large main building Paleis Oranjestraat, it has three floors. Inside this gigantic structure, there’s a theater area, a café with delicious treats (that was my favorite), and exhibition halls.
Alma Löv Museum of Unexp Art began in 1998 and has had exhibitions with artists from across the world with a plethora of different backgrounds. Some of these artists are at the beginning of their careers, while others are well-seasoned. Throughout this museum, they have artistic quality and creativity at the most important with the art they show. Marc Broos ran Alma Löv for thirteen years and he made sure none of the projects ever became anonymous. In 2014, his daughter Stella Broos took over Alma Löv Musuem of Unexp Art and since then two essential items were added to the place. Now there’s a creative workshop for children and a permanent stage for concerts and events.

There’s one that I thought was heart wrenching but lovely. It was a traveling cart that looked abandoned in the forest. Inside there was a desk and it had recorded letters along with letters spread out. While I listened, I learned that it was a love story in Spanish and these letters were sent to lovers that were out of the grasps of the ones that they loved.
The museum’s immersive and engaging exhibits make it an ideal destination for families seeking an extraordinary outing. Children and adults alike can explore the wonder of art, sparking their imagination and curiosity. On top of that, there’s food offered at the cafe!
